Treatment for Facial Eczema
Eczma is usually treated with a combination of emollients and corticosteroid-based creams. Emollients (depending upon their active ingredients) can be used to manage eczema long-term, and corticosteroid topical creams can be used to mitigate the symptoms from flare-ups. Your doctor will determine what the best medication treatment options are for you depending upon your condition.
There are several good hygiene habits you can use to help treat facial eczema:
- Moisturize frequently (around twice a day depending upon how severe your eczema is).
- Clean gently with very mild soaps (harsh detergents can trigger eczema).
- Use cooler water to wash your face and not warmer water.
- Don’t use cosmetics or makeup and inflamed and irritated skin.
